Our Sustainable Event Management course is approved by Leeds Metropolitan University and UK Centre for Events Management.

The interactive workshop will suit you if

  • You are planning to implement sustainability within your venue, business or event, and want to learn more
  • You are working on or planning to implement BS 8901 (future ISO 20121), and want to practically understand how to implement the British Standard
  • You recognise sustainability is a key industry issue and want to use this session to learn more about how to adopt sustainable best practice
  • You are keen to start implementing sustainable change to give your business a competitive advantage

Course content and learning outcomes

  • Understanding of what sustainability is and why it is important for the event industry
  • Understanding of how to implement sustainability with event management
  • Knowledge of what standards exist and what key standards involve
  • Understanding of why and how to monitor, measure and report
  • Understanding of key environmental, social and economic issues, why they are important for the event industry and how to address them
  • Understanding of how to identify and engage with stakeholders
  • Knowledge of how to create a policy and communication action plan

Homework

Following the workshop day you will be given homework to help you start your sustainable event management journey.

Follow up

You will have the opportunity to have an hour long one-to-one follow up telephone call to address any queries which may arise post workshop.

Online tool

You will also be given a template to access the online tool www.eventsustainability.com for one month following the workshop.
